Savvy employees know that the “office party” is an oxymoron! Brush up on your work Etiquette and manners before you go, because Management will observe who’s naughty and who’s nice.

1.Twas the night before …

Have a good night’s sleep. Choose an appropriate outfit. You’re going to work and you’re going rested and prepared, just like any other work day. DON’T be fooled into thinking that it is NOT work related!

2. Red Nose?

DON’T Drink or if you do, drink responsibly… You’re being watched and you need to be fully aware and in the moment.

3. Be happy, be jolly.

It’s that business-and-party combined, so it’s time to be warm and congenial. Act like you’re glad to be there! Make it a point to talk with as many people as you can. But it NOT the time to ask for a promotion or raise by trying to do a “snow job” on your boss.

4. Remember Dasher! Dancer! Prancer and Vixen!

Know people’s names. Introduce people to one another. Network and be engaging.

5. And to all a good night…

Don’t be the last to leave (or to arrive). It’s just not cool. But don’t dash away either; Balance … moderation … self-management …
